45 years ago today on Friday 16th October 1970 two spans of the pier collapsed when the owners, Clevedon Urban District Council,  were carrying out a load test.

Do you remember that day, and do you have stories to tell? Please let our archivist know as we are collecting a community archive of key moments in the history of our beautiful pier. Please call in at our shop at No. 4 The Beach with your stories or email [email protected]
