Clevedon Pier and the Twisted Oak Brewery have teamed up to produce a special beer to celebrate this year’s big 150th anniversary event. For every bottle of Pier Bier sold, 5p will go towards the maintenance of Britain’s only Grade 1 listed seaside pier. Similarly 5p will be donated for every pint bought on draught.
Keith Hayles, head brewer at Twisted Oak, said: “We’re extremely honoured to be brewing Pier Bier, specially for the pier’s 150th anniversary celebrations. It’s a deliciously drinkable, pale ale made entirely with English hops – perfect for the summer!”
Pier Beer is available in bottles from: Twisted Oak’s micro pub, ‘The Fallen Tree’, on Clevedon’s Hill Road; Tiffin on the Pier; Tiffin cafe at Bullock’s Farm in Kingston Seymour; The Cellar in Clevedon; The Curzon Cinema in Clevedon; The Theatre Shop in Clevedon; The Cork & Fork in Yatton; Tout Budgens in Langford and Brockley Farm Stores near Cleeve. It will also be available on draught from The Fallen Tree throughout the summer.
Phil Curme, Clevedon Pier Trust’s Chairman said “we are chuffed to bits in having our very own specially brewed beer from Twisted Oak. Our friends at the Fallen Tree micro pub in Hill Road are active supporters of the Trust and we are delighted to have found a way of deepening this local connection for the benefit of all”. Phil added “it’s a unique beer for a unique pier. I would recommend both!”
