The directors of Clevedon Pier have appointed a Business Manager to lead the delivery of their ten year Business Plan.
The directors of the Clevedon Pier & Heritage Trust Ltd have appointed Nicole Laken as their new Business Manager. Nicole has a very strong track record of delivering results in the ‘not for profit’ sector and is well placed to take the Pier through its’ next stage of development.
Nicole will lead a mixed team of staff and volunteers and will have responsibility for all aspects of the Pier’s business including customer service, operations, marketing and community engagement.
Chairman of the Board, Simon Talbot-Ponsonby said “Nicole, with her previous experience in management and customer service, will be a huge asset for the Pier. I’m thrilled to have such a high calibre person leading the team”. He went on to say that “Nicole is well placed to build on what has already been achieved over the years since the Pier was rebuilt following the collapse at the end of the last century”.
Nicole said “I’m very excited and looking forward to the opportunity of making Clevedon Pier into one of the top destinations not just in North Somerset but also in the South West. My aim is to attract many more visitors including tourists, locals and those with a penchant for history and architecture”.
Grade 1 listed Clevedon Pier is currently undergoing a major transformation which will include the addition of a restaurant & restaurant, conference & wedding facilities, a heritage centre and a much improved shopping experience. The recent Community Share offer has already attracted more that £100,000 of public investment.
Nicole takes up her position at the end of October this year.
