Visitor Centre at Clevedon Pier on track to open in early May, 2016
Our contractors are making good progress on the work to complete our stunning new Visitor Centre and Restaurant. A temporary roof has been erected over the structure to allow fitting out work to carry on whatever the weather throws at us.
Work on the renovation of the Toll House is now nearing completion and we expect that visitors will be able to access all the new facilities well before the start of the important summer season.
Why not visit the pier in the next few weeks, to see progress on the new building from our temporary scaffolding access?
The new facilities include an educational room that will sit under the pier looking out to sea, as well as much needed toilets and a restaurant / cafe with seating for up to 25 people and space outside for another 25-30. At present there are no toilets, nor year round indoor spaces for providing hot and cold refreshments, hosting meetings or regular functions or running activities for educational groups, children or older people.
Following the recent Community Share Offer and the securing of support from the Architectural Heritage Fund the Visitor Centre is now fully funded. It remains the case that sponsorship and donations will be an important part of our charitable income in the future.
