These yoga classes are for those seeking a mini-break away from the weekly tasks and desk, to enjoy the sea air, while moving, to strengthen, stretch and calm, body and mind. Use your Monday lunchtime to: develop and maintain cardiovascular fitness, good posture and full range of body movement; reduce stress and inflammation, lower blood pressure, boost your immunity; cultivate concentration, focus and clarity of mind.

£12 pp, including pier entrance fee.

Good to know

Sequences will be suitable for all those who are fit and well enough to exercise. Clear cues will be provided to guide all participants, with adaptations, modifications and progressions offered, so whether you’re a beginner, a sporadic practitioner or well-seasoned yogi, you’ll enjoy your Saturday morning yoga on the pier experience.

If you can, please bring your own yoga mat. If you use blocks and straps, bring those along too. A warm layer or blanket would be good to have during the guided relaxation. Equipment can be provided on request.

Yoga sessions can still go ahead when the weather is more challenging. We’ll take our mats indoors, to Clevedon Pier’s Porthole Room. Dry and warm and with a completely unique and stunning beneath the pier view through the porthole.

Toilets are available on the pier.

There are plenty of parking options along the seafront, along nearby streets and in car parks near the bandstand and Clevedon marine lake.

To be sent further information and complete a participant health questionnaire, please email [email protected] after you have booked.

Hosted by

The yoga sessions are being hosted by Clevedon Pier and taught by Emma Strong.

Emma (she/ her pronoun) has been practicing yoga since 2001. She attended her first class in pyjama bottoms in her local arts centre. Sweaty Betty wasn’t even a twinkle in someone’s brain back then. She was hooked almost immediately and hasn’t looked back. She has regally practiced hatha vinyasa, 26+2 and yin yoga ever since, has a deeply established meditation practice and lives her yoga on and off the mat. One of the profoundest yoga gifts she’s ever given herself was a week-long, silent, vipassana meditation retreat. Realising just how much yoga had supported her through some major ups and downs in life, she completed her first yoga teacher training in 2020. She has now completed yoga trainings in: hatha vinyasa yoga, hot yoga, yin yoga & mindfulness and flexibility coaching. She is passionate about sharing the joys, health benefits, the healing and life transforming potential of yoga.
