Step inside Clevedon’s Market Hall

This September, Clevedon Market Hall opens its doors as part of The National Heritage Open Days programme, giving visitors the chance to step inside this important but until recently closed historic building.

The Grade II listed Market Hall was designed by renowned local architect Hans Price, whose work helped shape the character of Clevedon and the surrounding area and who designed the Pagoda at the end of the Pier.

The building has recently been purchased by the Clevedon Pier and Heritage Trust, and we are beginning an exciting new chapter for this historic space.

A building with a future

The Trust’s ambition is to transform the Market Hall into a vibrant Arts and Heritage Hub, bringing together Clevedon’s remarkable stories, collections and communities under one roof.

The future vision includes exhibitions exploring the town’s social, political and engineering history, its development as a seaside resort and its maritime heritage.

There will also be opportunities for learning, performances, community events, volunteering and creative activity, alongside space for people to develop new ideas and fledgling businesses.

Much of Clevedon’s history is already held within well-catalogued archives and collections, including photographs, artefacts and oral histories. The Market Hall gives us the opportunity to bring these stories to life and make them accessible to both local people and visitors.

Whether you know Clevedon inside out or have only just discovered the town, we’d love you to come along, look around and imagine what this building could become.

Cars and Coffee 

Some of the Cars and Coffee vehicles will be on display in the carpark on Saturday morning. Market Hall will also be host to https://redlineracing.co.uk race simulators where you can get max G-force on the Stephens Hairpin and accelerate out of the Curzon Chicane.
