Avery Healthcare announced as the main sponsor for Clevedon Pier in 2024

The Clevedon Pier & Heritage Trust have announced that The Hawthorns Clevedon and Poets Mews Care Home are to be the main sponsors for Clevedon Pier this year. This partnership builds on a relationship that goes back over almost thirty years.

The Chair of the Clevedon Pier & Heritage Trust, Phil Curme, said “We are proud of our partnership with The Hawthorns and Poets Mews – a collaboration which is going from strength to strength. This main sponsorship helps us to preserve the UK’s only Grade 1 listed pier for future generations, and we love welcoming their residents as visitors, volunteers and supporters”.

Customer Services Manager at The Hawthorns, Aggie Jasinski, added “We are very proud to be Clevedon Pier’s main sponsor. Our residents love visiting the Pier and always receive a very warm welcome. Working with the Trust is proving to be extremely worthwhile and is opening up all sorts of community orientated opportunities”.

The original founder of The Hawthorns was one of the earliest supporters of the Trust after the Pier collapsed and during the local campaign to save it. When the Pier was dismantled prior to reinstatement in the late 1980s, the pier-head shelters and pagoda were stored on land adjacent to The Hawthorns. Following the sale of The Hawthorns to Avery Healthcare, the historic connection was recognised, and the collaboration has continued. For the past few years Avery have been the Trust’s main sponsor, assisting on specific projects such as the refurbishment of the Pier gates for the 150th anniversary in 2019 and contributing much needed funds for essential long term preventative maintenance.

This week, Alison Bryant (General Manager, The Hawthorns), Aggie Jasinski (Customer Services, The Hawthorns), Phil Curme (Chair, Clevedon Pier & Heritage Trust) and Nicole Laken (Clevedon Pier Business Manager) – pictured above – celebrated the renewal of the partnership in the Pier’s unique restaurant – The Glass Box. A fitting venue which Aggie described as “an incredible dining experience, in a fabulous Pier setting, very tasty meals, beautifully presented, served with a lovely smile by ever so friendly staff”.
